Thank you for being the Safety Champion for your team at The Cheerleading and Dance World Championships. We look forward to seeing you in Orlando and have been working very closely with Disney to ensure everyone who attends Worlds has a comfortable and enjoyable experience. For your Safety Champion training, please continue reading to know what is expected. If you are no longer the Safety Champion for your team, please forward this email to the appropriate person.
ROLE OF THE SAFETY CHAMPION
Remember, there must be ONE Safety Champion per team other than the head coach who is at least 18 years of age. For example, if your club brings two teams, you will need two Safety Champions, one for each team.
SHARE all safety information and protocols with everyone from your team, as well as all friends and family who will be in Orlando.
Once in Orlando
Collect the Safety Champion button from your team's coach to wear throughout the event (coaches will receive buttons at registration). This button identifies you as the official liaison between your team, spectators and the Worlds staff should any safety concerns arise.
The BAND app will serve as a communications tool for SPECTATORS and SAFETY CHAMPIONS at The Cheerleading and Dance Worlds. Download and use the app for real-time event updates and information. Championship event staff will be online and ready to assist you in the chat room.
NOTE: the BAND app will be managed by Worlds staff beginning April 17. If you have questions before then, reach out to your Worlds Registration Specialist. And don't forget to turn on notifications so you are the first to know important event details!
After downloading the app, search for:
