How to start a conversation about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The WE S.H.A.R.E. video was created in 2019 to be a great conversation starter.
Parents: watch the video and begin a dialogue about DEI in your daily lives with your athlete. What are examples in your community, program, and school that need to be viewed under a more proactive lens?
Owners & Coaches: watch with your staff and engage with your athletes.
ALL OF US- athletes, parents, coaches, and owners, should resolve to not only join in the conversation but commit to being action and solution-oriented.
ALL STAR | ALL TOGETHER
The USASF is inviting All Star high-school-age athletes (cheer and dance) to get together with other All Stars from across the country in this first-ever virtual connection. The USASF Scholarship Alumni and the Athlete Advisory Council Alumni will serve as panelists and share their tips for becoming a successful and well balanced All Star Athlete. Join us September 27th at 7pm EST. Open to current member athletes. To register, athletes will log in to their Athlete Profile and look for the Upcoming Meetings section to register. Once they complete their ZOOM Registration, they can submit their questions for the call.
David Sims, General Counsel and VP of Development for JAMZ, Executive Director and General Counsel of the Youth Cheer and Dance Alliance (YCADA), and longtime USASF Member and contributor, shares his views on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in All Star and speaks directly to you, the parent, offering his insight into what you can do to support efforts toward creating an inclusive environment in your athlete’s gym or studio. He believes that “together as one industry, united in our belief in the value of equity and inclusion, we can accomplish our lofty goals.”
AN ATHLETE'S PERSPECTIVE ON DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION
After attending a recent Diversity, Equity and Inclusion call with coaches, owners, All Star professionals and USASF staff, athlete Tseday Henderson, offered a very unique perspective and left with key takeaways that are inspirational and thought provoking. As a Black All Star athlete, her voice is integral in shaping the future of All Star and we are here to listen. Read on to learn more about her experience in All Star and participation in USASF efforts toward Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Founded in 2003, the USASF's mission is to support and enrich the lives of our All Star athletes and members. We provide consistent rules, strive for a safe environment for our athletes, drive competitive excellence, and promote a positive image for the sport by establishing fair and consistent rules and competition standards. The organization credentials coaches, certifies legality officials, sanctions events and maintains and adjusts (as needed) safety guidelines, all with the goal of providing the safest possible environment for cheer and dance athletes to train and compete.
