Dear Cheer Coaches:

Novice SELECT is a foundational guide that partners with the USASF Novice Tier and has been developed to help YOU offer a new, lower-cost, less intensive product in your facility that attracts first-time young athletes to the competitive side of All Star.

Novice SELECT introduces competitive cheer in a fun way to athletes that have never been a part of All Star and are curious as to what it’s all about. The idea is for athletes and families to fall in love with All Star cheer in a non-stressful, performance-based environment. The Novice SELECT guides have been developed to help newer coaches develop a competitive Novice routine for a Sanctioned Event - and still be evaluated at events!

Novice SELECT is a program focused on:

• foundational skills
• progressions
• technique
• performance

It's a step up from the FUNdamentals Tier and helps prepare athletes for the competitive All Star Prep and Elite Tiers. Novice SELECT is offered as an option within the Novice Tier. When you register at an event, you will register in the NOVICE DIVISION. Novice SELECT is a tool for you to use to develop your Novice routine.

Select your skills from the lists provided in the Novice SELECT level lists and modules.

SELECT your Music

Select from one of the three cuts of Novice SELECT music provided- or provide your own music.

As a member benefit, Novice SELECT is open to current USASF Members. To access the program, log in to your Coach Profile. In the top right corner click the dropdown by your name, click FUNdamentals/Novice Select > Novice Select.

FUNdamentals is designed to be a short term, non-committal low cost introduction to All Star in a weekly class format.
