YOU, our USASF members, have spoken – and we listened!
In response, we’ve been working hard preparing for the 2021-2022 season. We’re investing in progressive resources to develop new safety programs, rules and best practices. Here are highlights of some of the new programs you can expect:
A new partnership with Safe@AllStar to create a customized Cheer and Dance safety education and training for clubs, coaches, parents and athletes.
An exclusive youth protection partnership with TNG Consulting to deliver enhanced member safety policy and procedure review.
Enhanced safe sport standards specific to cheer and dance that meet the same requirements as the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee.
$50,000 in secondary excess accident medical insurance and $5 million in catastrophic accident insurance – a $3 million dollar increase.
Continued investment in developing Cheer and Dance safety rules and best practice policies that will keep your athletes safe in your facility and at sanctioned competitions.
Cheer and dance coach education and credentialing at a greatly reduced cost to the coach or club in an inclusive pricing model for coach membership.
The work over the past year continues to advance the USASF’s 17-year mission as the organization that unites the All Star community by creating and delivering consistent rules and safety policies for a better athlete experience. To expand on the highlights above, the new 2021-22 programs include:
NEW Safe@AllStar Partnership: USASF’s revolutionary new Safe@AllStar program provides a customized video training and certification model for athletes, parents, coaches and owners, solely focused on abuse prevention specific to Cheer and Dance. Safe@AllStar also includes a free app for parents to create digital safety profiles for their athletes that enable professionals to utilize crowdsourcing technology in the event a child has gone missing at a competition. https://safeatallstar.com/
TNG Consulting Youth Protection Partnership: TNG will provide third-party intake, investigation, response and resolution to reports of misconduct and abuse. TNG also will consult on member safety policies and procedures, training and audits that bring heightened expertise to create an even safer and more transparent environment for all USASF members. For more than 20 years, TNG has provided industry-leading solutions to reduce the risk of violence, discrimination and harm in communities across the country.
Member Injury Insurance for Athletes and Coaches: USASF will provide secondary $50,000 excess accident medical insurance and $5 million catastrophic accident insurance to athlete and coach members. This is a $3 million dollar increase for the 2021-22 season that covers athlete and coach injuries that may occur in either the practice facility or at sanctioned competitions once seasonal memberships are renewed.
NEW All-Inclusive Coach Membership: The USASF coach membership fee now covers the cost for ALL coaches to take the online training and written credentialing tests. The new membership bundle will be a simple flat rate of $75 for coaches and will include:
coach background check with 24-month monitoring;
written testing for Cheer and/or Dance credentialing;
U.S. Center for Safe Sport mandatory training and education; and
access to the new Safe@AllStar training programs.
Competition Sanctioning: USASF develops and provides fair and consistent rules, policies and sanctioning standards for ALL competitive events. However, not all competitions follow the USASF sanctioning standards. Your safety and protection member benefits only apply at USASF sanctioned competitions.
Your 2021-22 membership dues will enable significant improvements in programs to support the safety and protection of athletes. Your membership as a Club ($150), Coach ($75) or Athlete ($49) will strengthen and grow the All Star community in the right ways.
This is just the beginning of the many exciting opportunities we plan to communicate in the weeks ahead. We look forward to July 1st when our membership renewal opens so that together we may further our commitment to athletes!
