Dear USASF Dance Owner,

With the bottom age of the Open Division rising for the 2022-23 season, concerns were brought forward from the membership about the future of the Kick Category at The Dance Worlds Championship. All other categories at The Dance Worlds offer a Senior Division, and so, if a team is unable to field an Open team, they have the potential to field a Senior team instead. Without that option in the Kick Division, potential atrophy of the division and the possibility of a negative impact on dance growth led to a conversation about adding a Senior Kick option at Worlds.

After much research, discussion and approval from the USASF Board of Directors, we are happy to announce the addition of the Senior Kick Division/Category beginning at the 2023 Dance Worlds Championship! We will be sharing this news in our weekly newsletter, The 2.3.0, as well as posting on social media tomorrow, May 4th. We felt it valuable to give you a preview so please refrain from sharing publicly until we have made our official announcement.
