Dear USASF Club Owner:

We have a few updates we wanted to pass along to you. Please share these with your coaches and staff so they too are aware.

Dance Age Grid Update

The Dance Age Grid released in February displayed an incorrect top age for the Senior Division. An updated version has been posted on usasf.net/rules. We apologize for any inconvenience.

DI/DII Classification

The USASF values you as a member Club and the essential contributions you make to All Star. Introducing youth to your Club and providing opportunities to experience competitive cheer and develop their skills is the best way to grow our sport.

As you are aware, the USASF introduced NOVICE and PREP tiers as entry levels and pathways for Club growth and greater All Star participation. To advance our commitment to these tiers, the USASF is excited to announce a modified method for determining division status for the 2023-2024 season. This change enables Clubs with thriving NOVICE and PREP programs to continue to grow independent of their Elite Division classification. The number of ELITE athletes will determine the division size for the Elite tier teams when a DI/DII division split applies.

In addition to the Division Classification: DI/DII change for the 2023-2024 season, further discussion to explore additional division splits based on team size and club size within DII will happen this summer for consideration for the 2024/25 season.

Below is the Division Classification: DI/DII that was developed with invaluable input from our focus groups and feedback survey. The Cheer Age Grid for the 2023-2024 season will be updated to reflect this update. After reviewing, if you have any questions, please reach out to your USASF regional director.
